State Of The Pups

Spock
Likelihood of a drop: None. As long as he has at least Jim around, there's no chance of Spock being someone I don't want to play anymore. However, I need to remind myself that Spock is someone who I need to make a conscious effort to think about putting into situations. He's very introverted. Left to his own devices, he won't socialize unless I post a GP for him every month. Especially during the holidays, he's been quiet, because he just doesn't do holiday spirit. This means that in January and February I have to really remember to tag new characters with him and follow up with the ones he already knows Anyone want to meet Spock?

Robin Goodfellow
Likelihood of a drop: Very low. Robin always ends up really floaty in games, which can sometimes make him difficult to play. Just because he is so easily satisfied and, despite having a slightly gloomy outlook, he's happiest when he's at status quo with the world around him. He doesn't like surprises of any kind. Which means I should start surprising him MORE. I still want to Age Reverse plot Robin and will do that in Jan or Feb pending my surgery results. He's probably getting married in spring, but that really won't affect much. He tends not to talk about his personal life when he could be talking about ... everyone else's personal life. He should meet new chars. Anybody want to meet Robin?

Gregory House
Likelihood of a drop: Moderate. If House doesn't do well in January and February, he's going to be dropped in March. I've already told myself this. He's the hardest char for me to write, with Spock being the second hardest. He takes a lot of mental energy and alertness, which I don't always have He is also not a nice dude. He's mean-spirited and narcissistic and he's just not going to be friendly with other people's characters, and I refuse to pull punches with that regard, so House still really has one friend: Chase. Maybe he'll get there with Will, who he finds very interesting. My goal is to find things for him to do to keep him mentally satisfied, and also to put more energy into him I've spent most of my energy on newer pups. He really needs more character relationships but the best I can ask for from him is frenemies. People don't always like that kind of relationship in RP.

Okumura Rin
Likelihood of a drop: None. Rin is pretty steady for me. He's extremely people-oriented, and extremely service-oriented, so despite being a moody little brat, it's really easy to thread with him. I do want him to get to know the characters he's met a little better, people like Sansa who he is familiar with but doesn't really feel like he's been 'open' or 'close' with. Being closer is important to him, and the more strong friendships he can find, the more satisfied he is. Yukio just showed up in the city, which will be a huge paradigm shift for Rin. He loves Yukio, so he's happy, but Yukio also honestly smothers him. Not that I dislike this. I love the relationship they have, to play out, but that's the honest assessment. Rin can be 'himself' much less with Yukio around, in ways I have to keep in mind. But Yukio also makes his decisions and reactions stronger. Maybe do another plot with him soonish???

Lafayette Reynolds
Likelihood of a drop: Low to moderate. I really, really don't want to drop Laffy, because I know, if I do, that will be a character that my overall roster will be wanting for forever, and who I won't find again. All the same, I am most aimless with Lafayette. Not really sure where to send him and what to do with him in Darrow. He needs to start exploring who he is, but in order for him to do that, he needs help becoming more comfortable with the way the world works around him and what he can do, as a medium, and as a witch. He's confident as a black man, and a gay man. But he's not confident about being a witch. He's not used to lacking that confidence, and he has nobody like Jesus in the city to truly encourage him right now with no real ulterior motive. He needs to find people he can be truly comfortable with.

Remus J. Lupin
Likelihood of a drop: Low to moderate. He is just so neutral. He's done better in threads where people put him seriously on edge, or when they challenge him a little, because as a Gryffindor, he rises to challenges. He tends to default to generally sorta nice guy who doesn't want to mention he's a Wizard and a werewolf without a little bit of tension. Nice guy is cool and all, but honestly not likely to lead to much more than pleasant conversation about pretty pleasant things. In order for him to develop beyond a slightly awkward but genuine sense of acquaintanceship and gain real friendship, there has to be pushing going on. Either Remus needs a reason to push for a stronger relationship with others, or I need to throw him at more characters who will go 'digging.'

Urahara Kisuke
Likelihood of a drop: None. Hahaha oh Kisuke. You're a weird one. One of my RP standby chars, my roster just feels empty without him. I've done well=ish in getting him around, but Thanksgiving through New Years is not a great time for him to meet people, because his beliefs are not very Western and Darrow is largely Western in that respect. He's setting up 'shop' in earnest soon, so will be selling supplies for ghosts/ghost hunters/people with psychic abilities/etc He has a very neutral attitude toward the subject, so has no problem handling amateurs or professionals, people who just want to see ghosts, or just want to not see them, or people who hunt them in earnest.
He's got a plot coming up as I've intro'd on the ooc comm with Di. It was meant for November, but my eye surgery has been put off twice now and everything's been so up in the air I've had to avoid starting anything major.

Uzumaki Naruto
Likelihood of a drop: None. Darrow is officially orange enough now. Doing well with Naruto. Making friends is his actual modus operandi so he's easy to toss anywhere, and always shows an interest in others. What I need to do now is make sure to follow up with characters he's briefly met. I do want to throw him at the action hero/superhero types in Darrow more, because despite having crazy supernatural powers, he's been raised in a military complex as a soldier, and it's a deep part of who he is, too. Without being a soldier, Naruto is a little aimless.
There's a rub here, though, that I also should concentrate on playing out more. A lot of the crime fighter types in Darrow, including his girlfriend, Korra, really prefer non-lethal methods of taking down marks. Naruto ... not so much. Most of his fighting style is geared toward overkill, if anything, and although he would rather talk a person down, he knows some people are just not able to be dealt with through aapprehension and imprisonment. There should come a point when Naruto is faced with the option of either letting a violent criminal go in order to not kill, or kill like he's been taught to when capture isn't an option, and face the consequences of explaining his choice to others.

Likelihood of an app: Certain. Whether Di apps one or both of Shikamaru and Gaara, Temari has a direct link to them. I do really want to app her because I could use another introvert on my roster. And because IT IS A SAUSAGE PARTY UP IN HERE. I have not had any ladies yet in Darrow. Temari is a hard-ass who prefers the company of men, but that's another good reason to app her and try to explore female relationships with her, especially how she, a soldier, might relate to the civilian portion of Darrow's ladies.

Natsu Dragneel
Likelihood of an app: Moderate. Plus one Kung=Fu Wizard. Plus one Playing With Fire. Ugh, I just love my shounen teens okay. I really want to app Natsu because I love playing chars from absolute fantasy settings. Natsu will end up in a world where nothing runs on magic, where he came from a world where everything ran on magic, before. He's got a personality that straddles my other boys well. He's smarter than Rin and Naruto, but also more of a Cloud Cuckoolander. He also does not give a fuck about breaking public property and tends to be a walking disaster area, BUT, he will always pay for the damages he causes.
Aang
Likelihood of an app: Moderate. Aang. What can I sday. Aang. He's one I really want to app, but listed as moderate right now because I'd prefer to see if I can't encourage more Avatar-verse canonmates. Especially because I will already have two air element users after Temari and Naruto.
Kurosaki Ichigo
Likelihood of an app: High. It's when that is the issue. Kubo is officially on the last arc of Bleach and Ichigo's having some interesting character development, so I do want to re-app him definitely, but the question is ... when will Kubo let me see what's going on.
Ruby Rose
Likelihood of an app: Your move, Rooster Teeth. Definitely want to app her. But I need more canon and solid background information to feel comfortable apping Ruby just yet.
