So I am pretty livid right now.

My bottle of Lantus, that I've only gotten two uses out of, fell on the kitchen floor. Freakishly, the bottom of the bottle broke off (I've never seen this happen before in all the years I've been on insulin).

I went to the pharmacy and brought the broken bottle and explained what happened.

The insurance company told the pharmacy it won't cover a new bottle until December 11th.

The medication is 185 dollars out of pocket. That's a car payment to me. Basically, I'll have to do without.

But how the fuck are you going to tell me you won't cover the broken bottle of LIFE-SUSTAINING MEDICATION that I have five refills on until December 11th. Because it's cheaper? You know what costs more than a 200 dollar bottle of insulin?

The hundred thousand dollar surgery to amputate one of my lower extremities that I have a 16 times higher chance of needing than a non-diabetic and that I will probably need later in life if I can't control my blood sugar with the insulin that I need to live.

Fuck you, America.

Fuck you, privatized medicine.

Thank god Obama is still in the White House.
